GUNN HIGH SCHOOL COMPUTER CLASS/CLUB CONTRACT (READ CAREFULLY)

 

I, ____________________________, state that I am aware of all of the following:

1. I know that the Gunn Student Handbook forbids me to play games on school computers. If I have not read the Gunn Student Handbook, I promise to do so, at least when it comes to the section on computer use.
2. I know that playing games on the computers can be a huge distraction to my fellow students, my teacher, and myself in terms of getting work done. This can result in really horrible grades for lots of people for a variety of reasons.
3. Participation in a Computer Science class requires signing of this contract.

By signing this document, I freely state that my gaming in the classroom will result in the following penalties:

1. On the first offense, I will be sent to the office with a referral. I will also be suspended from class (and/or club, whichever my teacher, club sponsor, or school administrators deem appropriate) for one day.
2. On the second offense, I will be dropped from class or club immediately. This will be included in my file that colleges get to look at.

I understand that my teacher is OBLIGATED by this contract to enforce these penalties and will not look the other way under any circumstances. This is to make sure that my teacher enforces the rules as most of the time s/he prefers to be a nice person. I understand that this is strictly professional, not personal. If the contract must be enforced, it is not because my teacher is mad at me. I also understand that my teacher and/or school administrators are the final judges in terms of deciding what constitutes playing games on the computer.
